This privacy policy covers the website of Prof. Mohamed El-Gaidi and the Spine Health & Neurosurgery Center in Dokki, Giza, in both its Arabic and English versions. The site is built on a simple principle: collect as little data as possible and never ask for information we do not need.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the static pages on the main domain in Arabic, the English version under /en/, the articles section on the blog (run on WordPress), and the booking form and contact links on the site.

It does not cover external platforms you reach through a link, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Linktree, Google Scholar, ResearchGate or PubMed. Each platform processes your data under its own policy.

The site exists to introduce the doctor and clinic, publish patient education and make booking easier. It is not an electronic medical record, so please do not enter a detailed medical history or sensitive data on it.

2. Data that may be collected

The site has no user accounts and no booking system that stores data in a database. The booking form on the contact page runs inside your browser: it takes your name, phone number, service and a short note, builds a message text and opens WhatsApp. The form does not store or send anything to the website's server, and the message is only sent if you press send inside WhatsApp.

Like any website, the hosting servers may automatically log standard technical data: IP address, browser and operating system, requested page, date and time, and server errors. These logs are used only for operation, security and troubleshooting.

The blog may use technical cookies required for WordPress to run or to protect it from spam. If a new tool that changes the nature of data collected is added, this policy will be updated before it is switched on.

3. Local storage and cookies

The site stores exactly one value in your browser's local storage: your light or dark theme choice, under the key elgaidi-theme-v2, so you do not have to choose again on every visit. It contains no name, number or medical information, and you can delete it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.

The site uses no analytics, targeted advertising or marketing cookies. If such a tool is ever added, its purpose, the party receiving the data and your consent options will be explained before it is enabled.

4. Google services and embedded content

The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, and the contact and clinic pages may show an embedded Google Maps map. When these pages open, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type, and the map may set its own cookies. This processing is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Links to YouTube, WhatsApp and social media are ordinary links and transfer nothing until you click them and move to that platform.

5. How we use data

Information you choose to send by WhatsApp or phone is used to arrange your booking, confirm the appointment, answer administrative questions and request documents needed for the visit. We do not use your number for repeated marketing messages without your consent.

Technical data in server logs is used to protect the site, prevent misuse, fix errors and improve speed.

6. Health information

Health information is among the most sensitive kinds of data. Do not post a full diagnosis, ID numbers or test results in a public comment or a message on a social account. Use the contact channels to book first, then follow the clinic's instructions for sharing scans and reports.

When you send a file through an external platform, the transfer is also subject to that platform's policy and the security of your device. Check the number before sending, lock your device, and avoid untrusted public networks.

7. Sharing data

The site does not sell or rent visitor data. Data may pass through necessary technical providers such as the hosting company or WhatsApp when you choose to use it, and may be disclosed where required by law or a valid official request.

Coordinating with a hospital, imaging centre or another doctor during your treatment is part of medical care itself, done with your consent under normal procedures, and is separate from running the website.

8. Retention

The booking form keeps no copy on the website's server. Messages you send by WhatsApp or other channels are kept according to that platform's settings and the needs of booking and follow-up, and data with no legitimate reason to be kept is deleted. Hosting logs are kept for the period set by the provider for security and backup.

9. Security

The site runs over encrypted HTTPS, and the blog system and its plugins are kept updated with limited permissions and strong passwords. No online system is 100% secure, which is why we rely first on collecting as little data as possible.

Neither the site nor the clinic will ask for payment card details or verification codes through a form or message. If you receive a suspicious message impersonating the clinic, do not respond and let us know.

10. Your rights: access, correction and deletion

You can contact the clinic to ask about data you have sent, or to request correction or deletion where possible. Give your name, the channel you used and an approximate date, without sending extra data. We may need to verify your identity so your data does not reach someone else.

Some requests may be limited where there is a legal or medical need to keep a particular record; we will explain what can be done.

11. Children's data

Contact about a child should come from a parent or legal guardian. We do not ask children to send their data directly. Share only basic booking details and send reports and images through the channel the clinic specifies.

12. Updates and contact

This policy may be updated when a new service or tool is added to the site, and the date of the latest update appears at the top of the page. It applies equally to the Arabic version; if wording differs, the Arabic text prevails. For the limits of the medical information on this site, see our medical disclaimer.
